Why Boreas?

What does Boreas represent? Boreas is the Greek god of the north wind, commonly connected to cold and harsh weather. We believe that difficult circumstances bring out the best in people and the solutions to confront these challenges.

Boreas was founded in 2019 by Kristian Werkley (BSME, MBA, PMP) with the intention of utilizing his 18 years of engineering design experience in aviation, defense, automotive, and motorsports to create innovative products for the activities he is most passionate about. Beginning his journey in motorsports at a young age, Kris continued to pursue racing during his college years, serving as Team Leader for the Rutgers Formula Racing Team in 2004. After graduation, he attended multiple formula car schools while competing in karting across the northeast, ultimately becoming a regional Shifter Kart Champion in 2010 and a Rotax Masters Champion in 2012.

Sean Kennedy (BSME) provides his 10 years of professional Manufacturing Engineering experience to all of our projects and product manfacturing.

A meticulous machinist, Sean was an active member of the Drexel Formula SAE team, and raced karts competitively from 2011 to 2016. He currently drag races a 69 Camaro he built with his Father.
