Why Boreas?
What does Boreas mean? Boreas is the Greek God of the north wind, and is usually associated with cold and adverse weather.
We believe that adverse conditions bring out the best people and solutions to meet the challenges of the conditions.
Boreas was started in 2019 by Kristian Werkley (BSME, MBA, PMP) out of a desire to apply his 18 years of engineering design experience in aviation, defense, automotive, and motorsports to develop innovative products for those activities that he is actively engaged in.
Starting in motorsports at an early age, Kris pursued racing even in college, becoming Team Leader for the Rutgers Formula Racing Team in 2004. After school he attended several formula car schools while racing karts at tracks all over the northeast, he became a regional Shifter Kart Champion in 2010 and Rotax Masters Champion in 2012.
